Jared Alder has connected a Bachelors of Science in Biology, emphasizing cellular biology from Arizona State University, coupled with a minor in Political Science to a career in environmental biotechnology. He has also marshaled his skills/abilities, utilizing formal education and diligent work efforts for a career-launch as a “Researcher” within the Biodesign Institute Center. Dr. Bruce Rittmann has served as mentor and professional-developer of Jared Alder enabling the field of “Waste Water Systems”.

Prior to his current role at OpenCEL, Jared worked for the U.S. House of Representatives (Representative – Jeff Flake of Arizona), receiving the “Congressional Plaque of Appreciation” for efforts with the U.S. House Committee on Natural Resources. Added to present job responsibilities, Jared is pursuing a Masters Degree in Environmental Management, also from ASU, planning completion in 2009, on an aggressive educational schedule.

Jared has also contributed to numerous “Community Service” recognitions, such as; the “City of Mesa Mayoral Volunteer Award”, designer of the U.S. Forest Service Firebombing Aircraft Recertification program-orchestrated in Arizona, the Salt River Projects’ biomass usages plan coordinating with the U.S. National Forest for generation of usable customer power, recognized by Mesa Department of Recreation for achieving a 30% budget reduction at the City of Mesa (Arizona)-with a significant increase in Youth Program participation ensuing, and, created a “Mobile Recreation Program” under a six-figure budget and 100+ staff with the City of Mesa.

In a relatively brief period, Jared has accomplished/contributed much in education and community service related initiatives.
